Update: call for papers/new social evening event and drinks reception

                       

                        Great Writing 2003!
                Creative Writing, Publishing, Reading

                Saturday June 7th - Sunday 8th 2003
                    University of Wales, Bangor

Closing Date for abstracts: May 1st 2003

Organisers of the highly successful 'Great Writing' creative writing
conference, now in its 4th year, invite papers on any of the areas
above - with a particular emphasis on the contemporary creative writing
world.

Examples might be: creative writing on campus; the current state of
literary publishing; reading practices in the contemporary world;
creative writing pedagogy, 'alternative' publishing; USA, UK, Canada,
Australia, Europe etc and new writing . .

UPDATE: Friday evening (6th) there will be a small drinks reception
for early 'arrivers'. On Saturday evening there will be a writers social
event sponsored by MLM, the publishers of the new international journal
'New Writing'. A publishers representative and an editor will be present to
discuss submissions to the journal.

Papers: max. 20 minutes in length.

Sessions will include:

Graeme Harper/Brooke Biaz
(National Book Council Award for New Fiction etc etc)

'The State of Play: Creative Writing on Campus and Beyond'
