For a proposed MMLA session on film adaptation, I am seeking papers
that do more than conclude, "The book was better." Of particular
interest are films that in some way visit radical changes on the
original source (as, for example, the main character in the novel _The
Running Man_ is transformed from a milquetoast to a "hard body" in Paul
Michael Glaser's adaptation).
Please send a brief abstract by May 18, 2003 to iadonisr@gvsu.edu or
Rick Iadonisi, Department of Writing, Grand Valley State University,
Allendale, MI 49401.
