Papers are invited for a VICTORIAN LIFESTYLES NARRATIVES strand, to be
co-ordinated by Clare Horrocks.
Possible areas for discussion include (but are not limited to):
life in the underworld;
silver-fork novels;
drawing room dramas;
living on the breadline;
idealised communities and utopias;
lifestyle narratives in the periodical press;
popular biographies;
travel writing;
empire and immigration;
dress and diet;
conduct books;
etiquette and manners
