Proposals are sought for a panel entitled "Stuttering Bodies: Poetry,
Language, and Failure" at the 2004 Northeast Modern Language Association
Convention. The panel seeks to investigate a "spasmodic" theory of poetry
where language stutters instead of glides, where productive subjectivity
breaks down, where concrete ideas dissolve into a generalized sense of
loss.

Please email one-page proposal to psstleeg@aol.com by September 10, 2003.
