Conrad Study Centre at the University of Opole, in co-operation with the
Joseph Conrad Society (Poland), plans an international Joseph Conrad
Conference - to coincide with the 80th anniversary of Conrad's death - in
late September 2004. (The probable date: 22-26th Sept.). It will take place
in Opole and Kraków and be capped with, for the brave and willing, an
excursion to Berdichiv (Berdyczów) in the Ukraine.
So far, Jacques Berthoud, Andrzej Busza, Daphna Erdinast-Vulcan, Anthony
Fothergill, François Gallix, Jakob Lothe, Allan Simmons and several other
well-known Conradians have promised to present their papers.
You are cordially invited to propose your contribution, sending in the
title as soon as possible and a summary no later than till the end of
January 2004. The organising committee will decide on the choice and
arrangement of papers (plenary sessions, group sessions, communicates
distributed, etc.).
Please, send your proposals and ask any questions to the adress/e-mail below
and visit our website.
