CFP: "Political Theater and the Limits of Empathy"

This session will address the position of empathy (sympathy, Mitleid,
etc.) in dramatic theory and practice during the long eighteenth
century, investigating in particular the implications of stated or
implied boundaries (especially political, ethnic, religious, and
linguistic) of empathetic identification. I welcome papers from all
language/national traditions.

Panel organizer: Sara Eigen
