Call for Practitioners!
The Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) 2004 Conference
Toronto, July 29th-August 1st
I am coordinating a panel for the ATHE 2004 conference in Toronto that will
focus on contemporary performances of religious theatre. I am seeking
practitioners of non-Christian religious drama who would like to present.
Speakers will present a short example of their work (if possible) and then
speak for approximately ten minutes about their experience staging religious
drama. Directors, actors, producers, playwrights, etc. are invited. Those
staging their work in a university/college context are particularly welcome.
If you are interested, please send a 1-2 page description of your experience
with religious drama and the ideas you would like to share during the
session (ex: specific theoretical approaches, problems encountered, issues
of physical space, particular successes, etc.) Please be as specific as
possible. Send your submission to Jill Stevenson at jc_stevenson@hotmail.com
by September 25th. Please include your name, any affiliations, and email
address with the submission. Please feel free to contact me with any
questions about the panel or the submission guidelines as well.
Please forward this email to any and all relevant individuals and groups.
