CFP: Pearl-Poet Sessions at Kalamazoo (9/15/03; K'zoo, 5/6/04-5/9/04)

The Pearl-Poet Society is sponsoring the following five sessions at the
39th International Congress on Medieval Studies, 6-9 May 2004
Western Michigan University Kalamazoo, Michigan.

1. "Trickery, Transgression, and Treachery in the Pearl-Poems"

2. "Liturgy and the Sacraments in the Pearl-Poems"

3. "Imagining the Divine in the Pearl-Poems"

4. "Elements of Folklore and Magic in the Pearl-Poems"

5. "Animal, Vegetable, and Mineral in the Pearl-Poems"

We invite various theoretical approaches from scholars of all
levels-from graduate student to senior academic.

Please submit a one-page abstract to the desired session (and please include
complete contact information).

Papers are to be no more than 20 minutes, and the deadline for submissions is
September 15, 2003. Submissions and inquiries may be sent to:
