2005 will be the centenary of the death of Sir Henry Irving. To mark the
occasion Richard Foulkes, Professor of Theatre History at the University
of Leicester, is planning a conference to be held in July 2005.
Expressions of interest and offers of papers are invited. Although the
primary focus will be on diverse aspects of the life, career and
cultural significance of Henry Irving, papers on other members of his
family (H.B. and Laurence) and close associates (Bram Stoker, Ellen
Terry, et al) will also be welcome.
Please contact: Professor Richard Foulkes, Department of English,
University of Leicester, University Road, Leicester, LE1 7RH. UK.
