            CALL FOR PAPERS & PANELS ON RADIO STUDIES

                    DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 15, 2003

                NATIONAL CONFERENCE April 7-10, 2004
                   San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter

The Popular Culture/American Culture Associations (PCA/ACA)joint radio
interest group invites scholars to submit presentations on radio studies.
The 2004 international conference is scheduled for April 7-10, 2004 in
San Antonio, Texas. The PCA/ACA radio interest group is among the
foremost national forums for radio studies.

TOPIC AREAS:

The PCA/ACA radio interest group invites studies of both radio's
historical and contemporary subject matter. We welcome presentations
dealing with a broad range of subjects. Just to mention a few, past
panels have focused on programming, drama, personality studies, policy
issues, talk radio, internet radio, public journalism, management,
international radio, and the future of radio. The conference is highly
interdisciplinary and attracts a wide range of academics interested in
media studies. See GUIDELINES BELOW.

Special Guest, Sandra Cisneros will be available on Wednesday, April 7, in
the evening. She has courteously agreed to autograph books following the
presentation/reception.

and Travel Information," you can find information if you would like to

                         GUIDELINES:

PAPERS:

 1. Submit an abstract of 50-100 words summarizing the paper.

 2, Abstract should include a title, author's name, complete address, and
     affiliation.

 3. The author must attend the 2004 PCA/ACA convention to present the
     paper.

 4. A completed paper should be produced and presented or summarized
     within 15 minutes. Fifteen copies of the paper should be available
     for distribution at the meeting.

PANELS:

 1. The submitted panel must include:

     a. Confirmation that all members have agreed to attend and
         participate.

     b. Name of panel.

     c. Name of moderator (including affiliation and address)

     d. Names of participants including affiliation, addresses, and
         titles of each presentation.

     e. Requests for AV equipment.

     f. All participants are expected to distribute 15 copies of a a
         completed paper.
