PANEL PROPOSAL/CALL FOR PAPERS
2004 ALA Conference, San Francisco, 27-31 May
"New Discoveries in Carver Country"
This panel will consist of papers that address issues in the study of
Raymond Carver's work that have not been sufficiently explored in previous
scholarship. Papers on any aspect of Carver's poetry career, including
comparisons between poems and stories, are encouraged. Other topics might
include, but are not limited to: Carver and medical humanities, comparisons
with writers that have not been the focus of previous research, new
approaches to Carver as a Northwest writer, and to his reception/influence
outside the U.S.
Papers must not exceed the ALA 20 minute/10 page format
Please submit 1 page abstracts by December 1 2003 to:
