Call for Papers -'British Wagnerism in the Fin de Siecle'

St. Peter's College, Oxford.

This conference will be held on 30 June 2004 and hopes to bring together a
variety of scholars to discuss the influence of Wagner upon life in
Britain up until the First World War. Papers and presentations should be
around 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes for questions.

Proposed sessions include:

 Wagner and Literature
 Wagner in Translation
 Wagner in British Musicology
 Wagner and Society (Critics and Commentators)
 Wagner's Influence on Musical Life (Composers and Performers)
 Wagner and British Aesthetics

Abstracts should be sent to gulliver.ralston@new.ox.ac.uk by 30 January, 2004.
