Digital resources and methods are rapidly gaining ground in the humanities, creating new links across the disciplines and between creative artists, researchers and information technology professionals. This conference, following on from Computing Arts 2001 at the University of Sydney, aims to bring together creators, users and disseminators of digital research resources from all areas of the humanities. Workshops will be held prior to the conference on the Callaghan campus of the University of Newcastle.

Proposals for papers, sessions or poster presentations are invited on any area of humanities computing, though preference will be given to those related to the following conference themes:

* e-humanities and the disciplines
* knowledge gateways
* new media

The conference invites a range of approaches, from case reports on tools, sites and projects to more theoretical reflections, and mediations between the two. A volume of selected refereed papers arising from the conference is planned.

The history stream of the conference will be coordinated with the annual meeting of the Australian Historical Association, 5th-9th July 2004, Newcastle. Two joint sessions are planned on approaches to electronic editing by historians and literary scholars.
