CFP: African American Literature and Culture (1/15/04; ALA, 5/27/04-5/30/04)

The African American Literature and Culture Soceity seeks 250-300 word
abstracts for panels at the American Literature Association Conference
in San Francisco.

While we welcome any topics, we are especially interested in the
following:
--Genre issues, esp. poetry, drama, autobiography
--Black literature and hip hop culture
--Women's writing
--Gay literature
--Pedagogy, theory and the politics of teaching African American
literature

Send proposals to Keith Byerman at <ejkeb@isugw.indstate.edu> (no
attachments please) or to the address or fax below.
Deadline for proposals: January 15.
Presenters must be members of the African American Literature and
Culture Society by the time of the conference.
