Featuring a Keynote Address by Jay Parini
Jay Parini, award winning poet, novelist, biographer, and critic, will
deliver the keynote address. Parini’s poems have appeared in periodicals
including The Atlantic, The New Yorker, and Poetry. His latest novel, The
Apprentice Lover, was recently released in paperback. Originally from
Scranton, he has been a professor at Middlebury College since 1982, where
he currently serves as Axinn Professor of English and Director of the
Program in Creative Writing.
CALL FOR PROPOSALS:
PCEA invites faculty, undergraduate students, and graduate students to
submit 250-word abstracts proposing a discussion of scholarship, creative
works, and pedagogy dealing with literature, film, or composition. PCEA
encourages either panels or individual proposals.
Enter the Student Competition:
Send completed works to be judged by a panel of regional
professors/writers for the best undergraduate and graduate submissions.
Top entries in each category will receive a monetary award and
consideration of their work for publication in PCEA’s journal,
Pennsylvania English.
Deadline for submission of proposals: DECEMBER 19, 2003
Send submissions with a preface noting school, position, and program of
study or discipline and any AV requirements to
