Seeking abstracts for a panel exploring how African Americans have
conceptualized/understood/accepted/rejected/complicated (etc.) U.S. imperial
practices. Particularly welcome are analyses of the dynamics of
complicity--essays examining the impact that the conscious or unconscious
repetition/replication of the imperial gesture has had on African American
cultural production, social institutions, political ideologies...
