in the current war; comparative studies of Islamic 'fundamentalism' and
American providential rhetoric; various aspects of Bush's religious conversion and/or
war talk; historical comparison's of Bush's religious narrative with early
settlers views of Native peoples, Wilsonian idealism, turn of the century
imperial justifications and other periods are also welcome. Theoretical papers that
explore Bellah's notion of civil religion and its application in contemporary
national narratives are equally relevant.
