CFP: Documentary Film, Television, and Video
Midwest Popular Culture Association
Friday-Sunday, October 8-10, 2004, Cleveland, OH
Deadline: Friday, 30 April 2004
I am seeking papers, abstracts, and panel proposals in documentary film,
television, and video for the 2004 Midwest Popular Culture Association
conference to be held October 8-10, 2004, in Cleveland, OH.
All topics related to documentary are welcome. Some possibilities include
the following:
* contemporary directors such as Michael Moore and Errol Morris
* issues of representation
* documentary and pedagogy
* reality television
* documentary as social activism
* documentary production and distribution
* documentary and ethonography
* home video
* truth and ethics
If you are interested, please send a one-page, 250-300 word proposal for a
15-20 minute presentation by e-mail to hmm160@psu.edu. You also can send it
by mail to Heather McIntosh, 115 Carnegie Building, College of
Communication, The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA 16802.
In your correspondence, please also include your name, the title of your
presentation, an e-mail and postal address, academic affiliation (if
applicable), and if you might need a VCR/TV or a slide projector.
The deadline for proposal and panel submissions is April 30, 2004. You will
be notified of acceptance by May 30, 2004.
