The College English Association of Ohio has extended its deadline to March 1, 2004.
The conference theme is: "What Should We Teach, How Should We Teach It, How Do We Know We're Doing It Well?"
Topics for panels, papers, and roundtables might include: Teaching / using literature in composition courses, collaborative writing, the research paper, self-assessing English departments, assessing instruction, responding to writing, teaching strategies, how we know we're succeeding (how we can measure progress?), looking to the past for new ideas (reviving old teaching practices, is the new always best?), diversity in the classroom, online instruction, bridging gaps between college and high school programs, writing in a visual age, reading in a visual age, writing centers . . . or other related topics.
CEAO welcomes papers from those living / working both inside and outside Ohio. Graduate students are welcome. All proposals submitted by the deadline will be considered.
The conference will be held Friday, April 16, 2004 at Ohio Dominican University, Columbus, Ohio.
