This call for papers is for a proposed panel session to be held at "(dis)junctions: Romancing Heteroglossia" at the University of California Riverside's 11th Annual Humanities Conference. This graduate student conference will be held April 9-10, 2004.

Panel Topic: "The Pre-Raphaelites and their Circle"

This panel is focused on the Pre-Raphaelite movement and its associates. Papers that focus on any aspect of the PRB are welcome.

Possible focuses:
    Individual artists
    Influences on/by the movement
    Other pre-raphaelite figures
    Contemporary reaction to their works
    Subversion of Victorian Ideology in their lives
    The fixation on death and dying
    Gender issues and expectations
    Ruskin's writings and influence
    The American branch of the movement
