One of the master filmmakers of the mid-to-late 20th century =
is Stanley Kubrick. Central to the work of Kubrick is his examination =
of how humanity responds to authority, war, and violence. These themes =
are explored by Kubrick in such diverse films as Paths of Glory, =
Spartacus, 2001, Dr. Stangelove, A Clockwork Orange, and Full Metal =
Jacket. Kubrick's work provides a fascinating canvas through which =
scholars may examine the impact of war upon the human condition. Please =
join us in exploring Kubrick's life and work through the theme of war in =
his cinematic legacy.
