>From Maning to Mansfield: Writing New Zealand 1820-1920.

An Interdisciplinary Symposium hosted by the Journal of New Zealand Literature.
Hamilton, New Zealand, 3-4 December 2004.

********

We invite presentations on any aspect of New Zealand writing in this century of change. Contributions extending the traditional boundaries of literature in this period are particularly welcome.

We encourage papers which contextualize the poetry, fiction and drama of the period, and papers which examine other forms of writing - ethnography, law, memoir and biography, natural history, politics, the domestic arts, travel - from a literary or cross-disciplinary perspective.

Submissions will be considered for subsequent publication in a special issue of the Journal of New Zealand Literature (JNZL 2005).

Date: Friday 3 and Saturday 4 December, 2004.
Place: Hamilton, New Zealand.

Abstracts of up to 200 words should be submitted by 30 September 2004.
