CFP: Native Topics (6/11/04; PCAS/ACAS, 9/23/04-9/25/04)

From: D'Oney, Daniel (doneyd@acp.edu)
Date: Thu Jun 03 2004 - 11:54:06 EDT

            Dear List,

This announcement concerns the annual meeting of the Popular
Culture Association/American Culture Association in the South. The
PCAS/ACAS will meet in New Orleans September 23-25, 2004 and the Native
Topics area chair actively solicits papers which address the intersection
of Native issues and popular culture themes. Examples of this might mean
Native writers, depictions of Natives in media, the way Native history is
addressed (or ignored) in state parks or textbooks, or any number of other
topics. The panel coordinator is expecially interested in presentations
which address Natives of the American South, but all topics are welcome
and strongly encouraged. For further information on conference details,
please examine the website at http://pcasacas.org/pcasentry.htm. If
interested in submitting a proposal, please reply off-line to
doneyd@acp.edu. Deadline for proposals is June 11. Thank you for your
time.

        Best regards,
Daniel d'Oney, Albany College of Pharmacy
