Great Writing 2004

International Creative Writing Conference

Saturday July 24th -- Sunday July 25th

UPDATE: The publishers of 'New Writing: the International Journal for the Practice and Theory of
Creative Writing' have agreed to publish a New Writing Special Issue, based on presentations at
the conference.

All presentations will be considered for inclusion in the newly announced Special Issue
of this international creative writing journal.

Papers for the conference already range widely across areas connected with creative
writing pedagogy, writers and writers lives, discussions of key work in poetry, fiction,
screenwriting, contempoary/'recent historical' studies of creative writing and creative writers,
and much more.

**CALL FOR PAPERS**

Paper proposals (100 --150 words) are still being accepted for this UK-based
conference. Paper presentations are to be 20 minutes in length.

Closing date: June 25th 2004, but early submission is encouraged.

The conference is being held at the University of Portsmouth. (Info. for international
visitors: Portsmouth is the birthplace of Charles Dickens and the surrounding area is
rich with literary heritage (ie: Tennyson and Keats having worked on Isle of Wight, and so on)
