Amplifications: Contemporary Poets in Conversation with Dickinson
Realms of Amplitude: A Conference of the Emily Dickinson International
Society
July 30th to August 1st, 2004 in Hilo, Hawaii

One member of this accepted panel has dropped out and we therefore seek
proposals for an additional paper. This panel investigates how
Dickinson's notion of amplitude illuminates contemporary poetry.
Writers with widely divergent backgrounds and strategies share
Dickinson's attitudes towards language, sexuality, and the physical
world. The papers gathered here discover those affiliations among
Dickinson and her successors in the United States and Ireland.
