UPDATE of deadline for "War in Film, TV, and History."
"War in Film, TV, and History" presentation proposals now due by 15
September.
This conference is sponsored by the Film and History League, the journal
Film & History, and the Literature/Film Association.
The new deadline for proposals gives researchers and teachers a bit more
time to indicate an interest in a meeting which will include scholars from
across the globe. There are 36 areas of interest, all listed on the web
site
for Film & History:
_www.filmandhistory.org_ (http://www.filmandhistory.org/)
Please check them out.
Of special note are the featured speakers: Adrian Cronauer (GM, Vietnam);
Jeanine Basinger (The WWII Combat Film); Lawrence Suid (Guts and Glory); and
Frank Thompson (Alamo expert). There will be a plenary session to discuss
Michael Moore's recent controversial Fahrenheit 9/11. Many journal editors
will be present to meet authors. Major publishers will have
representatives
on site.
This conference will be conducted near the DFW Airport and will run from
noon
on 11 November until the evening of 14 November.
