About Gordon Weaver:
Gordon Weaver has published four novels and ten collections of short
stories. His novel, Count a Lonely Cadence (1968) was adapted and produced
as the film Cadence, directed by Martin Sheen in 1991. His short stories
have earned him multiple awards and he has received two NEA Fellowships, as
well as the O. Henry Award. His works have appeared in numerous periodicals
and anthologies, and his poetry collection Small Defeats was published in
1999. Weaver has edited a long list of publications and given over 150
invited readings and lectures. He served as Professor of English,
Department Head, and Director of the Graduate Program in Creative Writing
at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater.
