The SF Literature Division of the International Association of the
Fantastic in the Arts would like to invite proposals for the 26th Annual
International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts.
The 2005 theme is: Blurring the Boundaries: Transrealism and Other Movements
March 16-20, 2005
Wyndham Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel
Proposals for papers or paper sessions focusing on the work of Guest of
Honor Rudy Rucker, Guest Scholar Damien Broderick, Special Guest Writer
John Kessel, and Special Guest Poet Albert Goldbarth are welcome.
Proposals relating to any of the following movements in Science Fiction (or
other movements not noted here!) are encouraged:
Absurdist Science Fiction
Art, Music or Theatre in Science Fiction
Cyberpunk
Cyborgs
Fabulation
Feminist
Gothic Science Fiction
History in Science Fiction
Horror in Science Fiction
Interstitial Arts
New Wave
Postmodernism and Science Fiction
Queer Science Fiction
Slipstream
Steampunk
Transreal
As always, proposals for individual papers and for academic sessions and
panels on any aspect of Science Fiction are welcome.
You may submit a proposal to:
Read a single paper,
Recruit and chair a paper session,
Organize and chair a panel discussion.
Proposals must be date-stamped no later than October 15, 2004. Electronic
submission is welcome.
