We encourage the proposal of new formats for conference presentations, =
especially in the presentation of scholarship.

The theme for the conference is "Bridging Communities, Engaging =
Creativity." In the diversity of communities that constitute ATHE, San =
Francisco, the United States, and the world, how do we bridge these =
communities through creativity? In the dynamic city of San Francisco, =
surrounded by its literal bridges, the 2005 Conference Committee invites =
ATHE's theatre artists, teachers, and scholars to rethink creativity and =
how it helps us build metaphorical bridges between and among communities =
- and how, in turn, building and crossing these bridges can engage our =
creativity in new, exhilarating ways.
