War and Nonfiction
Each year the Center for the Study of the Korean War, located on the Graceland University-Independence, Missouri, campus, sponsors the conference as an opportunity for scholars, students, veterans, and others to gather and share information, questions, stories, and academic papers concerning war. This year's conference theme is war and nonfiction writing. While at least one session is always reserved for a discussion of the Korean War, we are seeking papers on issues relating to war and nonfiction writing in general.
This year's keynote Speaker is Helie Lee. Lee is the author of Still Life with Rice, and In the Absence of Sun: A Korean American Woman's Promise to Reunite Three Lost Generations of Her Family. In addition to her keynote address, Ms. Lee will conduct a workshop on memoir writing.
Please send a one-page abstract and brief c.v. by December 1, 2004, to
