CFP: The Film _Alien_ and Feminism (11/1/04; PCA/ACA, 3/23/05-3/28/05)

CALL FOR PAPERS

Looking for papers deal with the film, ALIEN (and its three sequels),
and feminism. Although we hope speakers will deal primarily with the
role of Ripley and social constructs of gender, we are willing to look
at other papers dealing with the film for possible inclusion. The
panel will be part of the Literature and Politics sessions for the
American Culture Association meeting.

The 2005 Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association joint
meeting will be held in the San Diego Marriott Hotel, 333 West Harbor
Dr., San Diego, CA 92101 (Phone: 1 619-234-1500; International
Toll-Free 1-800-228-9290), Wednesday March 23rd to Sunday March
26th,2005.

Please email one page proposals to the chair below, and include the
following information:

1) Presenter's complete name and academic title (academic rank, grad
student, etc.)
2) Paper title (please keep them concise)
3) Academic affiliation and address; COMPLETE DEPT. AND INSTITUTION,
WITH CITY, STATE, and ZIP CODE COMPLETE DEPT. TITLE.
4) Phone numbers: office AND home numbers (if possible); if I cannot
reach you, you may be dropped.
5) EMAIL ADDRESS; I need at least one active email address

Email submissions are prefered, but if for some reason you must use
ground mail, be sure you supply before the deadline and with ALL the
above information; and please be sure to include phone numbers and
email addresses where you can be reached. If MAILING your proposal,
