CALL FOR PANELS AND PAPERS
28th Annual New Jersey College English
Association Spring Conference

The New Jersey College English Association is soliciting panels and papers
which consider a broad range of literary and composition topics for its
annual conference.
The NJCEA brings together those interested in language, literature,
pedagogy, and other aspects of the teaching and study of literature and
writing. Paper proposals are now being accepted for the following panels:
* American Crime Fiction and Film Noir. Organizer: John

* "Are We Still Doing Women's Studies? Gender in the

* "(Dis)Ability in the Classroom: Students, Authors, and
Representations of Physical and Cognitive Disability." Organizer: Kristen

* "The Things They Wore: Clothing and the Construction of

* Readings of original works of fiction and poetry.

Anyone with an interest in any of the above topics (or, indeed, any others)
is encouraged to propose a paper. If you are interested in contributing to a
particular panel listed above, contact the session chair as listed.
Full and part time college instructors, graduate students, and other
professionals within the field of English are invited to send panel
proposals and paper abstracts on any topic related to college English to the
conference chair at the address below.

Please note: Graduate students are invited to submit their papers for
consideration for the NJCEA's annual Graduate Student Award. The winner of
this award will receive a $50 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble, and the
winning essay will be published in College English Notes, the official
publication of the NJCEA. Graduate students must submit full papers (not
abstracts) for the paper to be considered for the award.
Deadline for panel proposals: November 1, 2004
Deadline for completed panels, paper abstracts, and grad student papers:
January 10, 2004
