This call for papers is for a proposed panel to be held at (dis)junctions
2005: theory reloaded, the University of California, Riverside's 12th Annual
Humanities Graduate Conference taking place April 8-9, 2005.
As Foucault notes in _History of Sexuality_, Victorians are notorious for
their obsessive desire to regulate sexuality. Contributors are invited to
submit papers that explore the ways in which Victorian texts unveil
secreted, scandalous sexualities and c/overtly attempt to
domesticate/eradicate the subjects who embody these “aberrant” behaviors.
Possible topics include but are certainly not limited to:
-Fetishes
-The other wo/man
-Fe/male communities
-Sado-masochism
-Masturbation
-Sexuality and nationalist discourses
