For a panel on The 9/11 Report for the American Literature Association
meeting in Boston, May 26-29, 2005:
Runaway best-seller, National Book Award nominee, soon-to-be
mini-series, the 9/11 Commission Report will probably prove to be one of
the most widely discussed books of our time. The basic questions that
literary scholars typically ask need to be asked of this narrative: how
was it composed, how has it been consumed, how should it be interpreted,
what political ends does it serve, and so on. Papers addressing any
aspect of the 9/11 Report will be considered. Send a one-page abstract
to the address below or to peepless_at_cofc.edu <mailto:peepless_at_cofc.edu>
by January 5, 2005. Please send the abstract in the body of the e-mail
message, not as an attachment.
