Association of Literary Scholars and Critics (ALSC)
2005 Conference, Cambridge, MA, November 4-6, 2005
The 2005 ALSC Conference Program Committee invites proposals for papers and
presentations for consideration for the 2005 conference, to be held at the
Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge, Massachusetts, November 4-6. Descriptions of
each panel and seminar topic appear below, along with contact information
for submissions.
In all cases, the deadline for submissions is March 31, 2005. And in all
cases, we request that a second, electronic copy of your submission be sent
to the Association's office at alsc_at_bu.edu. Please write "Conference 2005
submission" in the subject line of your message.
Panel Five: Poetry and Empire
Chair: Irena Grudzinska Gross (Comparative Literature, Boston University).
Examinations of the relationship of poetry to empire from antiquity to the
present; abstracts on classical literature, non-western cultures, and on
countries of the former Soviet bloc especially welcome. Send abstracts of no
more than one paragraph in length (or a half a page), by March 31, 2005, to
