Call For Papers: In Cold Blood Reassessed
Proposed special session
MLA Convention, December 27-30, 2005
Washington, DC
With the 40th anniversary of the serialization of Truman Capote's In
Cold Blood upon us, it is time to reassess the 'first nonfiction
novel.' Papers dealing with the film and tv versions of the book and
the impending Capote-in-Kansas movies are welcome. Papers that would
revivify discussion of the book without resurrecting hoary debates
about the New Journalism are especially welcome.
Since this is a special session, the topic may be narrowed and the
title improved to capture more precisely the panel's interests as they
emerge.
