The Association of Graduate Students at Saint Louis University Madrid Campus
is pleased to announce its third annual colloquium: "Landscape and
Identity." Possible topics include landscape, real or imagined, as influence
on or setting for identity; landscape and ethnic identity/national identity;
roots and restlessness, moving to/from/through countries and cultures; old
worlds and new; civilization vs. wilderness; the esthetics of representing
landscape. The self-conscious selection of our tema amplio (open topic) is
to encourage wide participation from scholars in literature and the
humanities (as well as other disciplines) residing in Spain and around the
world.
All papers will be presented in English. 250-word abstracts for
twenty-minute papers due by April 28, 2005 should be submitted by email (no
attachments, please) to the conference organizers, Jaime Ortiz
(jaimeortiz_at_mi.madritel.es) and Ana Hager (aeh_at_mail2world.com).
