NORTHEAST CONFERENCE ON BRITISH STUDIES

2005 Annual Meeting, Amherst, Massachusetts

CALL FOR PAPERS

The 2005 Annual Meeting of the Northeast Conference on British Studies
(NECBS) will be held October 21-22, 2005, at the University of Massachusetts,
Amherst.

The NECBS invites proposals for panels or papers in all area of British
Studies, broadly defined, from across the arts, humanities and social
sciences. Panels may include thematic or interdisciplinary sessions from the
medieval and renaissance periods to the present, teaching and pedagogy, or
roundtable discussions. Proposals for entire panels on a common theme are
preferred, but proposals for individual papers that may be assembled with
others to create a panel are also welcome. North American scholars,
international scholars, and graduate students are all encouraged to submit
proposals to the Program Chair.

Please send proposals with an abstract of the paper (200-300 words), as well
as brief curriculum vitae (1-2 pages) to:

Submissions by email are welcome.

Proposals must be received by May 1, 2005.

The NECBS serves as the regional gathering for colleagues in the northeastern
United States and eastern Canada but welcomes participants from all regions
as well as outside North America.
