Arguably, there has never been a more fertile period for literature in Scotland than the present day: the cultural landscape is becoming increasingly enriched by an ever-growing number of serious literary artists.

Abstracts reflecting the diversity of contemporary Scottish literature are now being considered for the "Write to the Point" Conference at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, to be held mid June 2005.

Topics may include, but are not restricted to, considerations of craft and authorial committment; reading Scotland; criticism and creativity; nationhood and identity; community and alienation; language & location; genre fiction; poetry; biography; etc.

Complete panels consisting of three or four presenters are welcomed.

Submissions are not restricted to any particular department style or form.

Please email 250-word abstracts to: writetothepoint_at_arts.gla.ac.uk

Deadline for submission: May 16th 2005.
