Prospective panelists should send a one-page abstract to both Professor Robert J. Heaman, Secretary-Treasurer, The Dickens Society, 35 Port Jenkins Lane, White Haven PA 18661, and Professor David Paroissien, Editor, Dickens Quarterly, 100 Woodstock Road, Oxford OX2 7NE, England.

Paper topics on any aspect of Dickens and his works are welcome. Final papers must be readable in twenty minutes.

Scholarly papers will be presented at sessions on Friday afternoon, October 14, Saturday morning and afternoon, October 15, and Sunday morning, October 16.
Accommodation for out-of-town participants have been reserved at the Sheraton Springfield Hotel. Reservations can be made directly with the Sheraton by calling 1-800-426-9004, or by sending an e-mail to anicholas_at_sheraton.com. Please identify yourself as being part of the Dickens Symposium. Our meeting will coincide with the height of the leaf season, so that early reservations are strongly recommended. The annual dinner will be held at Max’s Tavern at the Basketball Hall of Fame, located on the banks of the Connecticut River, where Dickens began his boat journey to Hartford on February 7, 1842.
