Call for Papers

Hispanic Literatures:

New Approaches, New Directions

        Penn State Spanish Literature students invite all interested
graduate students to the Graduate Student Symposium on Hispanic
Literatures that will be held Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15,
2005. The organizing committee will consider papers related to the
conference topic, as well as requests for the formation of special
sessions organized around a specific topic, author or work.

Please submit:

One-page, 300-500 word abstract in English or Spanish. Abstracts should be
double spaced, in 12-point type including title of proposed paper, name,
academic affiliation, current address, telephone, and e-mail address of each
presenter.

Abstracts must be submitted by May 15, 2005. Reading time of final papers is
limited to 20 minutes (8-10 double-spaced pages). No papers will be read in
absentia.

The keynote speaker will be Professor Gustavo P=E9rez-Firmat, David Feinson
Professor of Humanities, Columbia University.
