Call for Journal Submissions
*DEADLINE EXTENDED: September 1, 2005
TransLit: UCLA Journal of Comparative Literature
TransLit is an annual academic journal produced by graduate students in
the Department of Comparative Literature at the University of California
at Los Angeles. A meeting place for a wide range of disciplines and
theoretical approaches, the journal publishes scholarly articles that
treat textual, visual, musical, or other media, and which relate broadly
to the field of comparative literature. Bringing together a range of
critical studies, TransLit serves as a forum for challenging disciplinary
boundaries, fostering innovative connections, and examining the relevance
of comparative literary studies in the contemporary world.
For its next issue, TransLit is seeking papers and articles that engage
with current questions in literary and cultural studies. Possible topics
include, but are not limited to, the following:
History and memory
Nationalism, identity and alterity
Rethinking postcolonial studies
Media and visuality
Gender narrative
