UPDATE: Writing By Degrees (8/1/05; 9/22/05-9/24/05)

Writing By Degrees has extended the deadline for submissions to August 1 for
its eighth-annual graduate creative writing conference, which will take
place September 22-24, 2005, at the Decker Arts and Cultural Center in
Binghamton, New York. Keynote speakers will be Judith Harris (poetry), Sena
Jeter Naslund (fiction), and Michael Steinberg (creative nonfiction). We
welcome submissions of poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as
academic papers related to the teaching and study of creative writing.

Participants will be notified by August 15 of their acceptance, at which
time we will ask for a $55 conference participation fee; those who have
already submitted will hear from conference organizers soon. For more
