The closing date for receipt of papers for the ASECS panel "Beasts,
Birds, and Fishes: Travel, The New Science, and Literary Discourse" has
been extended to September 13, 2006.

Scholars interested in submitting a paper to this panel on any area of
science, including mathematics, astronomy, natural history, etc. and
travel (which may be imagined or real), whether prose(fiction or
non-fiction, including letters, journals, diaries, etc), drama, and/or
poetry should forward their 300 to 500 word abstracts and vita via email
to jhayden_at_ut.edu.
