*DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: JUNE 15, 2007*
Children and Childhood Studies (CCS) research focuses on the societal,
cultural, and political forces, which shape the lives of children and
the concept of childhood. CCS draws from the behavioral and social
sciences as well as the arts. Papers in this area examine the impact
of popular culture on children and childhood, as well as the role of
children and young adults as influencers and creators of that popular
culture.
The MAP/ACA Conference in Philadelphia will offer a wide range of
research areas. For more information about the conference and other

http://www.mapacagazette.net/. To submit a proposal, please send a one
page (250 -- 300 word) description and a brief CV or bio to the area
chair listed below by *June 15, 2007. *Single papers, three or four
person panels, round-tables and alternative formats are encouraged. You
may submit proposals to more than one area, but you may present only ONE
paper at the conference.
*Note: all presenters must bring their own laptops.* Only slide
projectors, carousels, screens, and combined DVD players/VCRs
with monitors can be provided.
