OF THE PARTY AND IN THE MARKET : THE SOCIAL FUNCTIONS OF CHINESE
JOURNALISM TODAY
A themed issue of Journalism Studies, to be published next year, will
cover these issues. The invitation has been extended by the JS editorial
committee following the successful symposium on this issue held at NTU in
February 1999. It was opened with a keynote speech by Prof Lee Chin-chuan of
Minnesota and Chinese University of HK and attended by scholars from several
European countries, Chinese journalists and the Media Law Advisory Committee
of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Offers of articles are welcome as are offers to review and suggestions for
works to be reviewed. All articles will be peer reviewed. In the first
