Special Session of the Midwest Modern Language Association Conference,
Cleveland, OH 11/8/07-11/11/07.

Conference Theme: "Reconsidering Realisms"

Panel Topic: American Cultural Studies

*"American Cultural Studies."* Papers welcome on any aspect of American
Cultural Studies from any time period in US history. Particularly
relevant are papers that speak to the conference theme of “reconsidering
realisms.” Papers may address material culture in the U.S. (automobiles,
clothing, toys, etc.), popular culture (television, movies, music,
fashion, etc.), media (journalism and the internet), and others. Papers
may also investigate high culture through the lens of cultural studies.
Please send 100-word abstracts and queries to Elizabeth Klaver,
etklaver_at_siu.edu by March 31.
