M/C Journal is looking for new contributors. M/C is a crossover journal
between the popular and the academic, and a blind- and peer-reviewed
journal.

all the issues released so far, at <http://journal.media-culture.org.au/>.

                         Call for Papers: 'print'

Print culture has dominated the world - has left its imprint - for the last
five hundred years, and traces back to Chinese inventions some two
millennia earlier. Today its hegemony is under threat, some say, from the
new communication technologies, while other claim that it will continue to
metamorphose and even grow in strength as (hyper)text-based literacies are
ever more crucial for personal and professional success. Whichever side of
the coin we look at, the transitions in print culture are uneven and
incomplete at this point - the paperless office has not arrived, and (our
own and our many colleagues' efforts notwithstanding) electronic text
remains seen as less trustworthy than what is printed 'in black and white'.

Share with us your views on print culture and its future. We'll publish
them - electronically...

The 'print' issue of M/C Journal will discuss these and other themes. Send
us good work about bad ideas in the form of a 1000-1500 word article to
print_at_journal.media-culture.org.au.

Article deadline: 8 April 2005
Issue release date: 3 June 205

of media and culture. Contributors are directed to past issues of M/C
Journal for examples of style and content, and to the submissions page for
comprehensive article submission guidelines. M/C Journal articles are blind
peer-reviewed.
