Teaching Literature through Travel
I seek papers for a session panel addressing courses with a travel
component, whether international or national. This panel intends to
explore methodologies and pedagogical issues relevant to courses in which
place occupies a particularly prominent position as students visit or
inhabit spaces of literary significance. Both literature courses and
interdisciplinary courses which include a literary emphasis are invited.
Rather than general descriptions of a particular course, papers should be
focused, thesis-driven analyses examining a specific component or
dimension of such courses.
Please send a 200 word abstract for a 15-20 minute paper to Dr. Susan
Schaper, College of Idaho (sschaper_at_collegeofidaho.edu), by February 15,
2008, for consideration.
